No finished projects to show at the moment, just seem to have a mountain of UFO's which I really have to finish one of these days. 
Hexagon bag front

I have a Japanese quilting book which had a pattern for a bag made out of hexagons. I started making the hexagons for the bag a long time ago, and just work on it occassionally. I finally finished the front panel last night, so just have to quilt it now.

But because it's taken me so long to make one bag front, I'm think I'm just going to put a plain back on it and applique on a few left-over hexagons.




  
Burren project
I'm currently working a panel as part of a group project with the Genesis Quilting Group. The panels will be based on the theme of the Burren. I've just finished basting my panel, so will have to crack on and get the quilting completed by 13th May, which is the next time the group is meeting.
Can't show a photo of the panel at the moment, until the rest of the group have seen it, so here's a pic of some sample pieces, painted bondaweb that I've used in the panel etc.

"Branching Out" ATC's

Haven't got much sewing over the past few days - just finishing up the Spring Issue of the Irish Patchwork Society Newsletter for the printers. Did manage to get a few ATC's done though - they're made using fabric scraps (some from my as yet unfinished "Branching Out" quilt)! Have got a few more postcards done for the "Branching Out" exhibition as well, which I'll be putting in the post next week. Photographs to follow next week.

Baby quilt

My brother & sister-in-law are expecting a baby the 1st week in May so I decided yesterday that I'd get started on making a baby quilt. It's a bit bright but luckily babies like bright colours! I've got most of the blocks made at this stage, so a few more evenings & the quilt top should be done..

Dislocation quilt, just finished

I have just submitted my online entry to the Dislocation Challenge. Dislocation is the theme for this year's Contemporary Quilt Group Challenge. Here's a detail shot of the quilt, will holding off showing the whole quilt for a while. I called my piece "In the Street Where I was Lost". When I was researching items on the theme of "Dislocation" I came across an article by Samuel Beckett in which he mentioned cultural dislocation, and being lost in the street of places that he used to know. So I was inspired by that idea when coming up with my quilt idea. Still have to add a sleeve and label, but that won't take too long. Now I have to go and make the sample of the quilt to send off as part of the jurying process.
